During the first lockdown back in 2020 my business fell off a cliff, so I took some time out.

During that time I took it upon myself to produce a pop song. It started as just a bit of tinkering after I discovered the Hooktheory musical sketchpad.

It ended up being a collaborative effort where I sourced drums from South Africa, bass from somewhere in the UK, guide lyrics and melody from Finland and sung vocals from Vietnam.

After plenty of advice (mainly that I’d over-produced it) I pared it down to the simple piano/vocal/oboe version that you can now hear here...
